Day 23: Game you think had the best graphics or art style
Though I’ve never played any of its games, the Final Fantasy franchise has always been a franchise that really captivates me. Not only because of the roleplaying elements, but also because of its unique graphic design. Dipped in Japanese style, Final Fantasy’s magical design looks inviting to many people, including me.
Below are a couple of screens showing some of FF’s creative art.

Day 22: A game sequel which disappointed you
As you may have noticed I haven’t blogged since the beginning of May. Much of it can be explained by saying I haven’t had the time (exams), but admittedly there were times that I just couldn’t bother. I hope I haven’t made you feel neglected in any way.
Anyway, enough with the blah-blah, hello to the most disappointing sequel I’ve ever played.

Day 21: Game with the best story
There are only a few games with good stories on the market. Games have to give players the feeling of satisfaction; players have to feel like they’re actually achieving something. In order to give players this feeling, most games have the basic -catchthebadguy- structure: somehow someone decides to mess around with YOU, gets real personal and leaves an angry you behind. An angry you who wants revenge.

I’m someone who’s very interested in the narrative and plot development of games. I love seeing how my characters grow and where they eventually end up. I’m also someone who wants to make the most out of everything; I have to finish all the possible sidequests before getting my hands on quests that actually matter.
Having said all of that, I think my favorite genre is pretty obvious. I dig them RPG.

Day 19: Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in
A setting I’d like to live in, that’s a tough one. I love fiction, but unfortunately in most fantasy worlds there’s always some kind of danger that sickens everyone’s mood. Take Oblivion for instance; despite the amazing graphics (Imperial City <3), the great guilds and the somewhat old use of language, the Emperor's death has gotten everyone blue and Oblivion Gates are opening near every city. Certainly not a time I'd like to live in.
Another example are the Assassin’s Creed games. The graphics are astonishing and the designs are beautiful, however the religious conflicts and the corruptness of the elites make the worlds unhappy places to live in.

Day 18: Favorite protagonist
That’s an easy one. My favorite protagonist is, without a doubt, Alistair (Dragon Age: Origins). Known for his sense of humor, this handsome lad is your very first and main companion. Without him, Origins wouldn’t be.

Obviously I could name well-known antagonists like Wario, Joker, Sephiroth, or GladOS (or many more) here, but truth be told, my favorite antagonist isn’t that well-known. No, my favorite ‘bad-ass’ is the main antagonist of the JRPG Blue Dragon; Nene.

Day 16: Game with the best cut scenes
I have absolutely no idea so I’m just going with the first game that pops into my mind, which is Assassin’s Creed.

Day 15: Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now
Right now, I am not playing any game. Right now, I am writing a blog, chatting with my friends, tweeting and breathing air. Oh, how I love multitasking.
Alright, done with the smarty-pants remarks already. Here are some games I am currently playing:

Day 14: Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper
Thanks to my ‘wallpaper switching’ software for Windows Vista, I have quite a collection of wallpapers. Though most are animal related, my latest wallpaper actually does represent a game: Bioware’s sci-fi RPG Mass Effect.

Day 13: A game you’ve played more than five times
Assuming that ‘more than five times’ refers to the times you have either finished the game or created a new character, there are about four games that would fit in this category for me. The games are; Heroes of Might and Magic III, Dragon Age: Origins, Dungeon Keeper II, and The Sims Deluxe.

Day 12: A game everyone should play
It was a saturday night. Me and that crazy kid named Jeroen were kicking back and playing online Bomberman on the Xbox 360. At least, we tried to since it took us about half an hour to actually find someone to play with, and believe me when I say that that had nothing to do with Bomberman’s matchmaking system. No. There are just simply too few Bombermans hopping around the bombing Bombaworld.

Day 11: Gaming system of choice
Those of you that follow me on Twitter might’ve guessed that the Xbox 360 is my gaming system of choice. Oh, the many times I tweeted about the Red Ring of Death, freezes and disc-scratches… Despite our bad times however, me and my 360 are still, and will always be, inseparable. That is, until the next Xbox console appears on the market of course. When that happens I will break up with my 360 and commit myself to another…
I’m kidding of course.

Day 10: Best gameplay
I must admit, I am doubting between Heavy Rain and Fallout 3 here. Both are really good games and I love the way they play. I admire Heavy Rain’s gameplay because of its originality but Fallout 3, on the other hand, beats Heavy Rain when it comes down to the actual playing itself. It just simply feels better.
Hm. A tough choice indeed and though close, I have chosen Bethesda’s jewel as best gameplay.

Day 9: Saddest game scene
As some of you may know, Dragon Age: Origins is a game that, emotionally, really captivates me. Therefore, it should come to no surprise that I have chosen a scene from this game as the saddest game scene I’ve ever experienced.
